The Kingsley Deluxe Series amplifiers
are designed to be versatile, great sounding and easy to operate.
It is easy to plug in and get great tones straight away, from warm
clean tones through touch sensitive slightly broken up sounds to
singing, sustaining thick crunch and lead tones. These amplifiers
are built with the utmost care and attention to detail and are completely
wired by hand using turret boards and terminal strips.
A variety of output sections are
available to provide different tonal characteristics and output
capabilities, from the single ended Deluxe 1 using a single 6V6
or EL84, through the Deluxe 30 using four EL84s, to the Deluxe 50
and 80, each of which accepts EL34s or 6L6s.The preamps on the different
models offer the same basic controls: gain, volume, treble, middle,
bass, reverb and tone, plus a bright switch.
Input 2 provides beautiful clean
tones and rich power tube crunch at higher volume settings, while
input 1 introduces an additional gain stage and a tasteful amount
of preamp overdrive, resulting in great sounding lead tones. The
equalisation network is very effective and smooth sounding in operation
and always sounds good, even at extreme settings. The tone control
works in the power amplifier section, rolling off highs as the control
is turned counter-clockwise. This is a useful additional e.q. control
as now you have the ability to control the tone in both the preamp
and power amplifier sections. It works very well to smooth out the
sound of bright pickups, especially when using overdrive. The reverb
is very smooth sounding with just the right amount of decay and
greatly compliments the tone of the amplifiers.
